GETTING BACK INTO PRACTICE

Hello everyone,

We have missed you! As 2023 began, we stepped back to consider how we wanted to offer more public learning experiences. What we landed on is a menu of possibilities we hope you’ll enjoy picking from, inviting people into, and being a part of.

Below, you will see there are two types of sessions: Community Sessions, which we host at no cost and which typically run for a couple of hours each, and Immersive Sessions, which are longer and usually have a registration fee. We hope you'll pick whatever looks appetizing from the menu.

COMMUNITY SESSIONS

Liberating Structures Taster Sessions

These are gentle, brief (re)introductions to LS that anyone can join. We’ve found that these taster sessions are best when they offer abalance of something that is punchy and quick while also thick enough to make meaningful connections with other participants. For those who have joined one of these previously: This new cycle will have a different design from what we did during the pandemic, but should still feel familiar.

Liberating Structures Slowdowns

In these sessions, we dig into individual Liberating Structures, together.

S l o w l y. We explore the purposes and design considerations of a single LS, practice imaginative invitations for it, think through its different contextual uses, and test of creative variations of the one structure.

Speculations

These highly experimental events are an invitation to dip into ideas that infinite virtual spaces and finite physical places make available to us.

IMMERSIVE SESSIONS

Liberating Structures Intro Immersions | May 10&11, 2023 or October 19&20, 2023

Familiarize yourself with Liberating Structures, learn the basics of designing with LS, and opt for individual coaching for specific support after the workshop. Consider the good, bad, ugly, and lovely of what LS makes possible in a lively community of learners. Details & registration.

Advancing Your Practice | May 17&18, 2023

This will be an opportunity to take your Liberating Structures learning beyond the basics through focused material on design, developing your own practice, and working with the nuances of co-facilitation & group complexities. We expect things to get lively, provocative, ambiguous, and playful along the way. Details & registration.

LS in Development | November 9&10, 2023

In this 2-day workshop, we will explore the evolving practice of Liberating Structures (LS). By focusing on the newer methods being developed across the global LS community, we hope to shine a light on the underlying design elements, characteristics, and logics that make up the existing repertoire and shape its future. ** We plan to host an in-person immersion workshop that will likely focus on LS-in-Development workshop sometime in early 2024. We’ll send out date and location details as soon as we have them confirmed. **

Coaching

We have always offered individual and group coaching to support people’s work, and believe it is an excellent way for most people to advance their practice. We wanted to highlight it as an offering because we have had so much fun in our coaching projects lately! We love getting to learn about the contexts and complexities people navigate in their facilitative work.
